KMCS’s approach to hospitality projects incorporates an integrated balance between management of upfront capital costs and ongoing operational costs. KMCS ensure that the capital expenditure on the project represents value for money and that a sustainable business both in financial and operational terms is delivered.


Also KMCS have been involved in a range of sports projects in Ireland, the UK and Continental Europe, from initial budget preparation and feasibility study through detailed design, procurement and construction. Major clients in this sector include the Football Association of Ireland (FAI), the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU), Horseracing Ireland (HRI) and Leinster Rugby. KMCS recently acted as lead cost manager on the 50,000 capacity AVIVA Stadium, Dublin, which was shortlisted for the 2011 Stirling Prize.

In the education sector, whether it is a crèche, national school, secondary school, third level educational establishment, university or general purpose/sports halls, KMCS have extensive experience in all types of educational premises. Each type of premises demands its own specialties in the approach to getting the most out of the scheme.


KMCS have recently been involved in the construction of the largest National School in the country (1500+ pupils) and also involved with a bundle of six schools let as one package in a design & Build type project. In the healthcare sector, KMCS was engaged as a Project Manager, Client representative and Quantity Surveyor for the development of the Community Nursing and Residential HealthCare Unit Development Programme. A multi-site Design and Build procurement approach was developed and adopted for the development.

KMCS have a wide range of experience with faithful restoration of historic listed buildings. We have worked on historic private houses, court houses, churches, commercial city office buildings, military barracks and the glass houses at the National Botanic Gardens to name a few. With our approach we work in close tandem with the design team and conservation architect to get a full understanding of the existing fabric of the building and how best to approach its restoration with a sympathetic view on maintaining the traditional fabric where possible yet achieving value for money.


One aspect of restoration works is that detailed attention is required for integrating aspects of modern living especially the installation of modern services and safety features throughout the property.
